Accessible Parking & Restrooms

  • Handicap parking is available near the Bellefield Mansion (the yellow building visible upon arrival).

  • ADA-accessible restrooms and additional handicap parking are available at the Wallace Center.

Wheelchairs, Walkers & Strollers

  • To view the garden from the Bellefield terrace, use the ramp on the north side of the Bellefield House.

  • Level, partially paved access into the garden is available through the east-facing gate (nearest Route 9).

Bus Access: A Dutchess County Loop Bus System stops right at Roosevelt Rd, on Highway 9 / Albany Post Rd.    (800) 924-8702

Walking / Hiking: The Hyde Park Trail System runs through the Frederick D. Roosevelt Home National Historic Site at a signaled crosswalk on Highway 9 / Albany Post Rd., giving easy access to the Beatrix Farrand Garden (look for the yellow historic house)

Air Travel Access: Nearby airports in the Hudson Valley are: Stewart International Airport and Westchester County Airport

Railroad Access: The Metro-North Commuter Railroad and Amtrak both stop in Poughkeepsie, about 5 miles south of the park.
