Open Houses
Volunteer docents are available on 1st and 3rd Sunday afternoons, 1:00 to 3:00 PM to greet and inform visitors for free. Docents will share historical information, tell you about Beatrix Farrand who designed the garden in 1912, share historic photos of the garden, help you identify plants and wildlife found in the garden, and answer questions. If you are interested in volunteering, contact info@bfgahydepark.org.
Children who are accompanying their family, will be offered simple activities to make the garden visit more interesting and fun, such as scavenger hunts, word searches and bingo boards of things they can see in the garden, coloring sheets featuring flowers on display for young children, and higher level activities for older children. Photography is always encouraged; picking or harming plants is never allowed.
